Attention, Board-Gamers: Queen Monopoly is on its Way
By: Maura O'Malley
There are two kinds of people in the world: those who finish games of Monopoly and those who get bored halfway through. If you’re in the “bored” camp, Queen may have just the thing to keep you entertained long enough to survive your opponents’ bankruptcy.
The band’s Brian May took to his website to reveal some big news:
“YES ! It's true !!!
We've been very secretly developing Queen Monopoly for over a year. And it's due in a shop near you in May.
I'm excited - it was a blast working on it - like making an album ! We hope you love it !
Choose your weapons !!!

While the original game is all about real estate, the goal of Queen’s version is to establish the band successfully from the start of their career. For example, the game’s description mentions buying gig locations, all the while avoiding bankruptcy—that’s way more fun than real estate, right?
All of the game pieces are Queen-related, like a bike for the song “Bicycle Race” (extremely topical, considering Hasbro’s recent announcement that the original thimble, shoe, and wheelbarrow Monopoly player tokens will be replaced by a penguin, rubber duck, and T. Rex).
Game night in May, anyone?
